SMC
or sheet moulding compound machines use compression moulding technique
to manufacture products used in various industries. Sheets are cut into
pieces and positioned in mould tools, which are preheated. After resin
is fed into the heated moulds, compression pressure is applied to cure
and harden the thermosetting material. The part so formed is finally
ejected. These machines are being increasingly used as SMC components
are rigid mouldings having good electrical resistant property.
