'Santec' Rubber Bale Cutters are
known for precision, quality, performance & value. This machine is
used for cutting raw rubber into a small rubber blocks to be
plasticated. These are mainly used to cut the natural rubber, synthetic
rubber & other plastic materials.
The machine is made up of knife or precision blade, hydraulic cylinder,
column, base & power pack unit. The hydraulic oil supplied by the
hydraulic power pack unit actuates the knife through cylinder. The
rubber block under the knife is cut up. Having fulfilled one cut-off
motion the knife goes up & resets automatically.
The lead or nylon is casted on the base under the knife for protecting
the edge of the knife/ blade.

This special attachment can be fitted
on mixing mills to assist the operator in mixing & rubber material &
chemical powder. It features continuous automatic operation saving
labour indulgence, provide safety to the operator, faster productivity &
reduce material temperature.
Process
The extruder has two main functions : to pump the rubber compound
through the barrel & to generate enough pressure in the process to
force the material through a die to give the required cross-sectional
shape.
The compound, usually in the form of a strip, is fed at a controlled
rate into the extruder, which imparts heat & some distributive
mixing moves the material along the machine & generates the
necessary pressure. After leaving the die, the product has to be cured,
cooled often cut to length & packaged or coiled for transport to the
customer.

Cold Feed Extruders
In these extruders a special design screw is used as in addition to
compacting & pumping the stock, screw has to plasticize it. The
extruder consists of an extruder unit, temperature control unit &
drive gear box & motor unit & all these units are mounted on
common bed. No pre-heating of compound is required so compound can be
feeded on room temperature thus reduce labour cost, higher accuracy in
the dimension & extrusion results accurate temp. control &
better product quality.
Hot Feed Extruders
The major goal in hot-feed extruder design is to keep temperature rise
to a minimum, the function of the screw is simply to compact & pump
the compound.
The hot feed extruders are best suited for the production of chords,
strips, profiles, tubing, channels & treads. 'Santec' extruders are
fitted with two stage helical gear box in place of worm reduction gear
box for achieving high efficiency.
Construction Details
Scroll : Double flighted scrolls made from special
alloy steel precision machined hardened & fine polished.
Barrel : For hot feed extruders single piece
construction made from high quality rolled steel plates. For cold feed
extruders two piece construction from special alloy steel. Highly
polished barrels are provided with welded jackets.
Liner : Fine polished wear resistant liner made from
special alloy steel.
Extruder Head : Standard adoptor head made from steel
plates with fabricated jacket & designed to accept common die
assemblies & held with a lock nut.
Transmission Gear Box : 2 Stage helical gear box with
all gears mounted on parallel shafts & oil lubrication to give 98%
transmission efficiency.
