Co-Extrusion
is a kind of extrusion process, connecting two separate extruders to a
common die and mixing the rubber compounds by separate screws. It
involves feeding the rubber material containing different properties and
converging then for obtaining a product with specific characteristics.
These machines process plastic pellets or powder into finished or semi
finished products. Pellets or powder is fed into a heated container and
homogenized with the help of rotating screws, they are then put into a
die and given a particular shape or form. While single screw extruders
are used for pellets, twin screw extruders are used for powdered
plastic. Co extrusion is an efficient process which makes use of two or
more extruders to obtain certain functional or physical properties.
